Plein les yeux au Port de Larros
Dégustation d’huîtres, visite de la Maison de l’Huître, balade sur la jetée du Christ et sur le sentier du littoral, allers et retours des bateaux traditionnels… Sur le port de Larros à Gujan-Mestras, les occasions de s’arrêter ne manquent pas.
L’huître du Bassin a son musée
Pour tout savoir sur l’huître, faites une halte à la Maison de l’Huître. Des vidéos, des maquettes, des collecteurs et une salle d’histoire décortiquent la perle du Bassin sous toutes ses coutures. Le parcours en extérieur nous raconte le milieu qui nous entoure : bateaux traditionnels, ports, flore du Bassin…
BUDGET : 5,90€ par adulte et 3,90€ par enfant (5 à 15 ans)
PRATIQUE : Ouvert du lundi au samedi de 10h à 12h30 et de 14h30 à 18h. 7j/7 en juillet-août de 10h à 13h et de 14h30 à 18h30.
Flânerie sur le port de Larros
Prenez le temps de vous balader sur l’esplanade des ostréiculteurs, avec ses cabanes colorées, tout en regardant les bateaux. Tout au bout, la jetée du Christ, superbe point de vue sur le Bassin d’Arcachon !
Sur l’esplanade, octroyez-vous une pause pour aller à la rencontre des ostréiculteurs et goûter aux huîtres, accompagnées de pâté !
Comment résister à une assiette d’huîtres fraichement récoltées ?
On les déguste à la cabane, ou au soleil installé sur le jetée du Christ, ou encore dans l’un des quatre restaurants.
Pour les amateurs de bateaux traditionnels : le chantier naval Dubourdieu, un des plus anciens de France, conçoit des pinasses depuis 1800. Peut-être aurez-vous la chance d’apercevoir l’un de ces bateaux à la sortie du chantier !
A noter : tous les jeudis en juillet-août, dès 20h, il se passe quelque chose sur le port de Larros : concert, théâtre, cinéma, animation… Soirées conviviales garanties !
Depuis Larros, empruntez le sentier du littoral pour une balade étonnante ! Sur le parcours qui relie les 7 ports de Gujan-Mestras, on alterne entre vues panoramiques sur le littoral sauvage et rencontres avec les ostréiculteurs du Bassin.
Dans la peau d’un ostréiculteur !
Embarquer sur une plate pour une sortie à la marée en compagnie d’un ostréiculteur est sans doute la meilleure façon de découvrir les huîtres du Bassin et ce métier passionnant. Une manière très originale de découvrir le Bassin avec ceux qui y travaillent été comme hiver.
Sur le chemin, l’ostréiculteur partage avec nous son quotidien. Sur l’eau, on prend le temps de vivre l’expérience tout en admirant les joyaux du Bassin : la dune du Pilat, les cabanes tchanquées, le Phare du Cap Ferret…
Une fois arrivé sur les parcs d’élevage, on contemple le lent retrait de la marée et l’ostréiculteur commence à mettre ses poches d’huîtres à l’eau.
Quand les parcs sont accessibles à pied, on s’y balade tout en questionnant l’ostréiculteur qui retourne ses poches… Un réel savoir-faire !
Puis, l’ostréiculteur nous propose une dégustation d’huîtres sur son bateau !

PRATIQUE : il faut prévoir une tenue adaptée, pas question d’y aller en tongs ! Vous partirez en fonction des horaires des marées du jour : le départ peut être à 6h comme à 16h par exemple.

Pour venir au Port de Larros, le plus simple : soit en train (TER Aquitaine, ligne 41.2 U), soit en bus Baïa (lignes 4 ou 8 ou navette F), et s’arrêter à la gare de Gujan-Mestras.
Le port est à 5 min à pied de la gare SNCF !
